Tear troughs are the grooves where the upper cheek and under-eye meet.

As we age, changes to the skin, fat and bone in the under-eye area can make the hollows appear worse. Other factors, like genetics, weight loss and smoking can also make the under-eyes look more tired and sunken. Tear trough fillers are a great way to rejuvenate the lower lid and correct the tear trough area to give you a fresher, less tired-looking appearance.

What does the under-eye filler procedure involve?

Two small entry points are made on either side of the face. A blunt and rounded needle (microcannula) is used to place dermal filler in the tear trough region. This type of needle is used to minimise your risk and also reduce the chances of swelling and bruising.

Are there any side effects?

You may experience some minor bruising that can last around 48 hours. It can take up to two weeks for the filler to completely settle.

What kind of filler is used to treat the under eyes?

We use Teosyl Redensity 2 which is the only filler licensed by the FDA for treating the delicate under-eye area. It also contains a mixture of vitamins and anti-oxidants which helps restore skin hydration and promote skin cell regeneration.

Does under-eye filler help with dark under-eye circles?

In some cases, dark circles under the eyes are caused by hyperpigmentation rather than volume loss. Fillers cannot resolve hyperpigmentation.

It was my first time visiting the clinic today and I have to say I was extremely happy with the service. I came in for the tear trough treatment and was really happy with the results. Ive lived in Qatar and come home to see family regularly. The gulf has some of the best aesthetics clinics around, and honestly face is the best i have been to! Dr Mariams needle technique is beyond amazing, of-course with over ten years experience as a dentist- i would trust bo one else to do any procedure on my face due to risks and complications but being a doctor of the head and neck i put my trust in her and the results are outstanding. Also i only do facials at face now, these fancy places i have been to in the gulf dont even compare the the tailored hydro facial Ms Fatima gave me- i was glowing for days and received so many compliments!!
